On Tuesday of this week, the Missouri Public Service Commission (MPSC) released their order regarding KCP&L’s rate increase request for the company’s Missouri service territory. The order calls for a $34.817 million, or 5.23%, increase in revenue. KCP&L’s original request was for $92.1 million.

The new rates will go into effect on May 4, 2011. A decision on KCP&L’s rate increase request for its Greater Missouri Operations (former Aquila service territory) is expected in early May.
