Turning Mechanical Power into Electricity
I got asked by a friend recently about advice on how to convert mechanical energy generated by exercise equipment such as a stationary bike or treadmill into electricity. After speaking with Luke we did a little research and found the Pedal-A-Watt Stationary Bike Power Generator. It will soon be arriving at our office!
This generator will be able to produce up to 400 watts of energy. We plan on using it to help customers better understand how energy can be generated and also what types of small appliances could be powered by this type of alternative energy. In a sense it will allow the customer to experience the true value of a watt. We look forward to sharing some great Youtube videos of us generating electricity to power our laptops, espresso machine, etc. around the office.
Find us and our new Pedal-A-Watt at the Gladstone 5th Annual Home Show on March 7 & 8 and see what we are powering.
