Kansas City, MO residents who meet specified requirements will now be able to take advantage of $1,000,000 in grant funding to make improvements to their homes. The grant designates seven targeted neighborhoods in Kansas City, MO to receive a maximum of $6,000 per household.
These targeted neighborhoods include:
- Santa Fe
- Washington-Wheatley
- East 23rd Street PAC
- Wendell Phillips
- Vineyard
- Ruskin
- Middle Blue River Sustainability Area
Qualifying improvements include:
- Roofing
- Plumbing
- Painting
- Windows and doors
- Tree removal
- Electrical systems
- Furnace
- Driveways and private sidewalks
- Handicap ramp
- Functional landscaping
Two projects may be selected to reach the maximum of $6,000. This grant can be used in conjunction with the low/no interest loan program for energy efficiency improvements through Neighborhood Housing Services, as well as the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program.
